Creating a cozy festive bedroom to get into the spirit for the holidays can be as easy as changing your bedding and cushions. The method to achieving the coziest and most inviting bed is layering. Start with a soft wool blanket as your base. Then, grab your favorite duvet that follows the color scheme, mine being White, Beige, and Red. Using a White duvet, I folded it twice and placed it at the foot of the bed for a layered and fluffy look. Aside from the white linen sheets and pillow covers, I also added two Beige faux Sherpa pillows for a soft and cozy texture. To add to the festive feel, any winter or holiday-themed accent pillow can be added layering onto our other pillows. This one is simple yet festive with Red plaid trees and a beige canvas. Finally, add a holiday throw as a final layer, creating the perfect cozy holiday-themed bed.
Console
Decorating for the holidays does not have to involve buying new decorations every year. The most important part of decorating your console is item heights and placement. Starting with an empty console, a simple mirror or artwork can be placed above. Firstly, add a bold centerpiece that is wide and short enough to not block the mirror or artwork. This can be greenery or even a tray. Then, add pieces that are taller in height than the centerpiece on either side of it. Grab items smaller than the centerpiece and place those in front and off-center of the taller items. This will give dimension through the various scales and add depth to your console-setup. To add more festivity, I added a bow and floor pieces around the console, this can be fake presents, etc. This will carry the eyes from the floor to the top of your display. Lastly, turn on all lights and light all candles to set the ambiance.
